In a sustainable way

I had such a nice time with one of my friends and her little three months baby yesterday. We were invited to an event with our old school at Fotografiska museet in Stockholm. I love Fotografiska, the building, the exhibitions, and the food. It is one of my favorite places in Stockholm. The owner of the restaurant had a lecture about sustainable dining and talked about that they did not waste anything. The food was amazing and I had to take a picture of the bottle of the non-alcoholic wine that they served. I do not want to lose that brand. I have nothing against alcohol I just prefer the non-alcoholic wines.

I visited a part of Stockholm that is brand new yesterday and walked into Hemköp to do some grocery shopping. There I came across a sign saying that you can “panta”, turn in your old plastic bags, here and for every plastic bag the company collects they pay 0:5 SEK to a charity, städa Sverige, Cleaning Sweden.

Cleaning Sweden is a wholly-owned non-profit organization, the country’s most successful in operational terms. For more than twenty years, we have engaged the youth sport in cleaning different parts of the Swedish environment. Most well-known is our campaign along Sweden’s roads with annual 400 association assignments and in round numbers 1300 tonnes of litter littered along the major roads. The campaign is supported by the business community and the Swedish Transport Administration and extends from Norrbotten to Skåne.

In addition to road cleaning, we run environmental projects on 100-seater coastal beaches, where we ensure that 3000 bags of junk end up at recycling stations instead of in the garden. The latter project concerns almost half of the country’s municipalities. -Städa Sverige

I think it is a wonderful way for the grocery store to contribute to the environment and that they try to do something with all the plastics that we use today. At least until we do the necessary changes we need to do to a more environmentally friendly product. Our use of plastic is not sustainable but I do see a few innovative products out on the market now that would really get things going in the right direction. It is just a little slow.

I have a few days off now until I start to work next week and I am going to focus on the company I want to buy. I have never asked people or banks for a loan on a stable project like this before. It has always been something that is a huge risk or that the budget does not add up until year five or ten when you start to see a profit. I do not have that problem this time and it is a nice experience for once. Everyone can see that the papers are in order and that I know, for the most part, what I am doing and talking about. I am going to look for a mentor that I can talk to on a regular basis so that I evolve and the company with me. We both have huge potential as someone said:) Ideal would have been to have one person in all of the above thoughts but I do not have that kind of person, to ask for a loan or advice, in my life.

A new love in 2018?

I am spending a lot of time on a new love right now. A love that I do not know is going to be a long-term commitment or not, but I would like it to. Now I have to decide if I want to do this my self or with a partner and who it is going to be. Am I going to find a partner that sees the same potential as I do? I have never come across something this stable before, a rough Diamant. You just have to polish it and put it out in the light for it to show its fullest potential. I would be so happy if I manage to pull this off (alone or with someone) so that we can go side by side into the future. Everything will fall into place if it is meant for me to have it.

I am also starting a new job (50%) in a week that I look forward to. 2018 came with a lot of new beginnings. 2017 was the calmest year I have ever had, and when I look back, it feels like I had a long vacation. Stayed at home and watched everyone else live their life. I was perfectly fine with the stillness I had in my life but changes are good, and mine comes now at the same time. 2018 is going to bring a lot of work in one way or another, but I look forward to it. I am done with the old, and I am taking the lessons with me to the new that wants my attention. I can move mountains if I want to.
